Presence of Mind

Since learning about this task, one may become increasingly aware of the time when one is absent minded. Often, stress results from worry about past or future. However, if we learn to deal primarily with present, we find life easier and its stresses dissipate and easier to tackle.

In practice, each task becomes a lifestyle issue, a way to live meditatively.

Practice living in the ‘here and now’ by practicing ‘presence of mind’ rather than ‘absent mindedness’. For example, driving is a typical time when one is absent-minded whilst projecting into the past or future, we disable the present and find ourselves occasionally lost or reaching our destination without even realizing it.

Good luck and keep practicing.
