Self-Discipline

It is often said that avoiding a need consumes more energy than meeting it. However, self - discipline is not merely about prioritizing and executing tasks efficiently. Lack of self - discipline also refers to our inability to give ourselves time-out or self-pampering; to deny this time out to ourselves is just as harmful as being inefficient at work.

In practice, each task becomes a lifestyle issue, a way to live meditatively.

We could use lifestyle factors to discipline ourselves such as quitting or reducing alcohol consumption. Alternatively, discipline may be required to give time to other interests, family or friends. Thus, if someone says I did not have time to call you today, what in fact they are saying that you were not high enough on my priority list as it is discipline which is required to  correct a mistake or for example apologize.

Good luck and keep practicing.
